We are looking for a committed Music Teachers to complement our qualified workforce of educators. You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a full educational teaching plan according to the school’s requirements. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.
The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the student’s interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
Location:San Mateo, CA
Apply expertise in piano performance and pedagogy to teach elementary and secondary school students music theories, techniques and performance on a one-on-one basis and group classes;
Teach jazz piano lessons and classes in jazz piano and document effectiveness in teaching jazz piano and improvisation;
Develop instructional plan and organize class time to provide balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time;
Conduct research and analyses on lesson plan/curriculum regarding the courses offered by the school;
Adapt instructional material as necessary to meet student needs, aptitudes, and interests; and
Evaluate students' work in music theory and provide feedback on their performance level.
Bachelor’s degree in Music or Piano with 1 year of relevant work experience; must be fluent in ragtime, blues, swing, bebop, hard bop, straight-ahead jazz, modal jazz, free jazz, third-stream, jazz-rock fusion, and funk.
