  • Antonela Frashëri

    Albanian-born pianist ANTONELA FRASHËRI is a performer and educator whose goal is to bring musical knowledge and enjoyment to students of any level. Antonela aspires to be a piano teacher who challenges students to develop critical thinking skills and also encourages them to be effective citizens through lifelong learning and global awareness. 

     

  • Born in a family of teachers in Albania, Antonela attended “Tefta Tashko Koco” Conservatory until the age of 15, when she and her family moved to North Carolina in the United States. Antonela made her debut in 2010, when she performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the Winston Salem Symphony. Before moving to California in December 2018, Antonela was a member of the piano faculty at the Music Academy of NC, the staff accompanist at Elon University and the pianist at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.  Along with pursuing her passion for music and teaching, Antonela is interested in finding connections between music, nature and culture; In 2016 she received a grant from the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creativity Office at UNCG, which gave her the opportunity to travel and do research in Milan, Rome, Naples, Venice and other cities of Italy. Antonela holds a B.M in Music Performance from University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she studied with Dr. John Salmon and Dr. Inara Zandmane. Antonela is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association and served as the social media representative of the Greensboro Music Teachers Association.
